Cookies and device storage
Last updated 15 October 2026
6 Degrees uses two first-party cookies and a little of your browser’s storage. They’re strictly necessary to run the game, your account and its fair limits, so they don’t need consent. When the game shows ads, they come from Google, which uses its own cookies (in the UK and EU only if you agree in the consent message). Ads for guests and children are always non-personalised and child-directed. We don’t use analytics or third-party tracking cookies.
| Name | Type | What it’s for | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| __Host-tt6_session | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | Keeps you signed in. Only set when you sign in. | 30 days after you sign in, or until you sign out |
| __Host-tt6_guest | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | A random id, signed by our server, so your free games, tries and rewards are counted fairly (everyone gets one on their first visit). | Up to 400 days, or until you clear cookies |
| Service worker and its cache (workbox-precache…) | Cache storage | Keeps the game’s own files (pages, code, icon) on your device so it loads quickly and can be installed. No personal data. | Until the next update of the game, or until you clear site data |
| tt6.adPersonalised | Local storage | Signed-in 13+ only, when ads are on: remembers that you turned “Personalised ads” on (off until you do). | Until you turn it off or clear site data |
| FCCDCF, FCNEC | Cookie (Google consent message) | Only when ads are on: remembers your choice in Google’s consent message (strictly necessary to respect it). | Up to 13 months |
| __gads, __gpi, __eoi, IDE | Cookie (Google advertising, third-party) | Only when ads are on, and in the UK/EU only if you agreed in the consent message: ad delivery, frequency capping, reporting, fraud prevention and — only for signed-in 13+ players who opted in — personalised ads. Child-directed ads (guests, and wherever stricter children’s rules apply) are never personalised, but may still use cookies for frequency capping and fraud prevention where the law allows. | Up to 13 months |
| tt6.adConsentTest | Local storage | Test site only: remembers your answer to the test stand-in for the consent message (never used on the live site). | Until you change it or clear site data |
| tt6_gate | Cookie (first-party, HttpOnly) | Test site only: remembers that this device entered the test site’s password. | 7 days, renewed as you use the site, at most 30 days |
Ads and your consent
When ads are on, Google’s consent message asks — before any ad loads — whether you agree to advertising cookies and personalised ads (in the UK and EU under the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework). No ad loads until you’ve answered (the message itself comes from Google), and nothing from Google loads at all for players with ad-free play, on the sign-in page or on these legal pages. If you say no, you may still see non-personalised (limited) ads. Ads are only ever personalised for a signed-in 13+ player who turned on “Personalised ads” on the account page (and, in the UK and EU, also agreed in the consent message); a US state opt-out in Google’s message always wins. Guests (not signed in or not confirmed 13+), and players wherever stricter children’s rules apply, always get child-directed, non-personalised ads, whatever is chosen. Change your mind any time with “Privacy settings” in the footer, on your account page or under an ad.
Third parties
Song artwork and 30-second previews are loaded from Apple, and when ads are on Google sets the cookies above (only with your consent where the law requires it).
Managing storage
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time; you’ll be signed out, and as a guest you’ll start again with a new guest id. Questions: hello@tasticgames.com. More in our Privacy notice.
