Terms of use
Last updated 15 October 2026
These terms apply when you use Top Tracks Solo – 6 Degrees (“6 Degrees”, the website and web app). 6 Degrees is provided by Tastic Games Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17512365), registered office 66 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NA, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). Contact: hello@tasticgames.com. By using 6 Degrees you agree to these terms — please read them with our Privacy notice.
1. The game
6 Degrees is a music puzzle game: link a START song to an END song in as few moves as possible (the Daily Six and Free play), make the longest chain you can (the Daily Chain and Free chains), or play with or against others (Co-op, Versus and Chain versus). Every link is checked by our server against Apple’s music catalogue. It’s free to play; an optional plan removes the ads and the daily limits (section 5). We may improve or change the game, its rules and its modes, and add or remove features.
2. Who can play, and accounts
- Anyone can play as a guest — no email or account. Guests play unranked, aren’t on the leaderboards and play Co-op, Versus and Chain versus against bots only. If you’re under 13, ask a parent or guardian before you play.
- You need to be 13 or over to create an account. An account gives you one ranked try a day at the Daily Six and Daily Chain, the leaderboards and streaks, and matches with other people. Only 13+ accounts are matched with people.
- One account per person. Sign-in is by emailed link: keep access to your email secure, and don’t share or sell your account.
- You can sign out, and delete your account at any time, on the account page. Deleting it doesn’t cancel a plan you pay for: a plan covers our other games too, so cancel it in “Manage plan” first if you want it to stop (section 5).
3. Names
- Every account gets a generated name (like “Velvet Otter 482”). You can choose your own display name — other players see it on the boards and in matches, so don’t use your real name; it must pass our word filter and must not be offensive, hateful, sexual or harassing, contain personal details or links, or pretend to be someone else.
- In matches, and on the match boards, you appear under the name you chose (or your generated name). A change shows from your next match, and is limited to a few a day. If you’re restricted after reports, you appear under your generated name.
- Players can report a name; we may hide it (it shows as “Hidden player”) and stop you choosing a new one.
4. Free games, rewards and ads
- The Daily Six and the Daily Chain are free for everyone, every day. Free play, Free chains and matches with others share a number of free games a day (5 at the moment). When you’ve used them, you can choose to watch a rewarded ad for more (3 at the moment).
- Other rewards are always your choice: a hint, 2 extra moves when you run out, a streak saver once a week, or an extra life in a chain. A result made with a hint or an extra life is marked and ranks below the same result without one; one finished with extra moves isn’t ranked.
- Rewards have daily limits, and a reward is granted only when the ad was shown (or none could be loaded, once a day). We may change the numbers of free games and rewards.
- The game is paid for by ads, from Google, and by the optional plans in section 5. With a plan (or ad-free play given by us) you see no ads, you have no daily limit on games, and rewards come without an ad.
5. Plans (subscriptions)
- Who sells them. Tastic Games Ltd sells the Tastic Games plans for our games — Top Tracks, Top Tracks Solo and 6 Degrees (“our games”) — through Top Tracks. Payments are taken by Stripe. One account email address covers every game: sign in with the same email in each. The billing terms are in the Top Tracks terms (“Purchases”), which apply to every plan wherever you buy it; this section is a summary.
- What’s included. Single-player ad-free (monthly): no ads and unlimited play in Top Tracks Solo and 6 Degrees — nothing in the Top Tracks party game. Tastic Games Pass (monthly or yearly): no ads in any of our games, unlimited play in Top Tracks Solo and 6 Degrees, and in Top Tracks the full game, ad-free for everyone in the games you host. A Tastic Games plan bought in Top Tracks (the Pass, single-player ad-free or Everything for Life) works here too when you sign in with the same email. Top Tracks’ own tiers (monthly or lifetime, with or without ads) cover Top Tracks only.
- Before you pay you see the price, the currency, what tax is included and how often the plan renews. You need an account (13 or over) to buy.
- Your right to cancel. A plan is digital content supplied straight away. When you buy, you ask us to give you access immediately and agree that you lose your 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations once access starts. The same wording is shown on Stripe’s checkout page beside the Pay button; by paying you confirm it.
- Renewal and cancelling. Plans renew automatically at the end of each month or year, at the price you agreed, until you cancel. Cancel any time in “Manage plan” on the account page (here, in Top Tracks Solo or in Top Tracks); you keep the plan to the end of the period you’ve paid for. We don’t refund part-used periods, except where the law requires.
- Changing plan. You can have one subscription at a time: switch plans in “Manage plan”. A change takes effect straight away. Moving from monthly to yearly charges the year at once, less the unused part of your month; moving to a more expensive plan with the same billing period charges the difference for the rest of the period at once. Moving to a cheaper plan, or from yearly to monthly, turns what you’d paid for the rest of the period into credit that comes off your next payments; if your plan ends with credit left, we refund it to your card.
- Price changes. We’ll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails we’ll try again over the next few days and you can update your card in “Manage plan”; until it’s paid, the plan is paused. If we still can’t take payment, the plan ends and you go back to the free version.
- Refunds and faults. Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 aren’t affected: if a plan is faulty or not as described, email hello@tasticgames.com and we’ll put it right or refund you. A refunded or charged-back plan stops working.
- Deleting your account. Deleting your 6 Degrees account doesn’t cancel a plan (it covers our other games): cancel it in “Manage plan” first. Deleting your Top Tracks account ends your plans in every game.
- Plans are for personal, non-commercial use and can’t be transferred or resold.
6. Playing fair
- Play yourself. No bots, scripts, automated or assisted play, scraping or tools that pick links for you; no more than one account; no getting around limits, the clock or the rewards; no exploiting bugs, overloading the game or probing it for weaknesses.
- Our server owns the clock and checks every link. We may remove results, reset streaks or ratings, hide names, and restrict or close accounts that break these rules.
7. Playing with other people
- There’s no chat: you can send six fixed reactions while a match is played. Matches use clean songs only — a song Apple marks as explicit is refused.
- Be a good sport. You can report a player (offensive song, offensive name, unfair play or something else) and block anyone; blocked players are never matched with you again (unless they make a new account).
- Reports from 3 different established players in 3 different matches within 30 days make an account practice-only (bots only) for 30 days. You’ll be told, and you can appeal by emailing hello@tasticgames.com. We may also restrict an account after looking at reports ourselves, and lift a restriction.
- Leaving a game with people — or missing 2 Co-op turns in a row — counts as a loss and a bot takes your seat. Being away for more than 2 minutes in a game with people counts as leaving too (the wait, not a loss). Leaving earns a short wait before your next game with people (2, 10, 30 minutes, then 2 hours, within a day). A dropped connection on its own costs nothing: a bot plays for you until you’re back.
- Players are paired by rating with people around the world, or with bots (always marked BOT) when it’s quiet. Only matches with two or more ranked people count for ratings and boards.
8. Music and our content
Song titles, artist names, artwork and 30-second previews come from Apple’s iTunes services and belong to their owners. They’re shown to identify songs and play previews only. 6 Degrees isn’t affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Apple or any artist or label. Top Tracks®, 6 Degrees, the puzzles, design and software belong to us or our licensors. You may share your results (the share card shows link types, never songs).
9. Liability
6 Degrees is free to play. We provide it with reasonable care and skill, but can’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or that boards, streaks or ratings won’t be corrected or reset. We’re not liable for losses that weren’t foreseeable, for business losses, or for problems caused by things outside our control (such as your device, internet connection or third-party services like Apple’s). If you have a plan, our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us for plans in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and we’ll tell you about significant changes in the game before they apply to you. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction — if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings there.
